our apartment is so ghetto

how are people able to talk through the stalls in a public bathroom? and not just a simple question and answer, but full on conversations. anyway..

Dear Ms. CG,

Please do not make me wait anymore to see what type of NEW, FUN, and EXCITING gum you recently bought. Not only have you boggled my mind with all the different possibilities of what this potential gum may be, you have also stopped me from working on my teaching plan that's due soon. If I don't finish my teaching plan then I will fail clinical! If I fail clinical then I will have to repeat Adult Community again. If I have to repeat that class, omgosh, who knows what will happen. THINGS WILL GO CRAAAAAAAAZY and I will bring you down with me! And all because you have me desperately wanting to know what type of gum you bought. I know you are nice so please tell me what type of gum you bought. =) Please oh please, I almost beg you.

Sincerely,
Your Biggest Gum Fan

i love making lists. love love love. i make lists for many things: things to do for the day, week and future, things to buy, things to fix, things to do in my spare time, books to read, and so forth. here is another list: our apartment is so ghetto.

1) the fire alarm doesn't work (we know this because it use to beep at us all the time. andy says that it's a warning to let us know it's low on battery, but we don't care to change it)

2) the bathroom switch flips down to turn on the light and up to turn off the light

3) we only have duck tape to hang everything up, so you already know that makes everything look ghetto

4) cracks are everywhere on the walls and floor..

5) the door to jenny and my room does not close all the way

6) neither does our closet

7) the apt door has four huge dead bolts but only one works. of course it has to be the lowest one and you have to squat to lock/unlock that one

8) the floor creaks where ever you step. it's inevitable

9) our floor is slanted. at this very moment my chair is rolling away from my desk but jenny has it even worse

10) oh and the elevator looks like it'll swallow you and bring you to hell

it has been quite the experience, living here. we've already blown a fuse x3 and all in the same night! but this place will always be better than douglass park. why? because there are no mice! but then again, i've only been here for a month..

on a different topic, mcdonalds is playing the monopoly game again! who wants to join forces with jenny and me? come on, we will dominate!

drowning rats

powerade had this line of drinks called power zero and i love the flavor mixed berry. why? because we have SO MUCH in common.

lets review our similarities:
::i like foods and drinks low in calories and power zero mixed berry has the lowest amount of calories possible-ZERO!
::i also like foods and drinks that are sweet and power zero mixed berry is deliciously sweet
::we both like the clear blue color
::i like things that have a good grip and power zero mixed berry has a handy grip mechanism
::it's called power zero and that's what i'm expecting for my grade on my pharmacology exam (maybe)!

okay, so maybe we don't have that many similarities.. but that's how i felt coming out of my pharmacology exam-- powerless and zero. waaaahhh! dang you, power zero!

if you could, how would you kill a rat? today, andy told me that dan caught a rat and drowned it in the toilet. not only do i never want to use that toilet again (located at Douglass Park, Apt. 412 to save you all who would have a toilet-ing experience there), i also wondered, why soap water? please dan, enlighten us:

"generally the idea is.. uh.. i put, you're typing exactly what i'm saying?? i put conditioner around the edge of the tub so if the mouse tries to climb up, it will slip down. i opened up my bag and pulled out each piece of clothing, with a glove of course, shook each one to make sure the mouse wasn't in it, and then andy looked in and saw a TERRIFIED little mouse in the corner. poor thing. and so we took the bag and dumped everything upside down into the tub and out fell the mouse. and when it hit the water it started swimming back and forth the tub. oh we took "a trash bucket," not mine of course, and scooped it out of the water.. and for a while it was swimming and when it was in the bucket i was thinking back to the analogy of cheese.. of milk? no wait, butter? i don't know what it is. what the heck? you're writing everything i'm saying? so i was thinking about cheese.. no wait it wasn't cheese, it was cream, and two mice (please erase all my stuttering).. and two mice were swimming.. WAIT no no that was a different analogy. i think it was one mice. no wait.. that was a different analogy. so one mouse is kicking really hard. actually no. both mice are fighting for their lives. but one gives up while the cream is still liquidy and drowns. stupid mouse. dumb mouse. the other mouse keeps kicking and after a while it turns into butter, or coagulated milk, and crawls its way out. but unfortunately for this mouse there's no cream in the tub. so the mouse was swimming actively and then suddenly stopped. andy said it was just hibernating so we poured out all the water. grabbed chopsticks to pick it up. and then andy picked it up by it's slimy tail. he tried a few times.. and then yea just dropped it in the toilet."

"did it flush well?" "yeah it flushed well." "why soap water?" "because it's slippery."

as much as i dislike mice, i kind of feel sorry for this one. never would i want my torturers to be andy and dan. jenny says she would have done the same thing. if you are applauding them for their terrible actions, you can ask dan for some of their torture pictures and videos. yes, they have pictures AND videos.

my child's name is sundial

if you haven't noticed already, this blog is suppose to be about the random occasions in my life. spontaneous things happen but i don't seem to remember them. naturally, i'll recall significant events so this will help me to remember everything else!

so today minnie told me to name my first child sundial. why? because her dream told me to. but why sundial? why not waterbottle? or rain dance? or rain moon and star? hm.. this must mean something significant. i better look into this.

if your keyboard is roasting, one way to make it cooler is by defrosting your chicken (or beef or whatever wrapped meat you choose) on top. make sure you put something in between the meat and keyboard to save the keyboard from getting wet but can also allow the heat through. it's like killing 2 birds with one stone. cooling your overheated computer and defrosting for dinner! but then who would want to kill a bird? minnie would. she thinks birds are evil.

jenny and i are sad. some maintenance guy thought it would be nice to replace our super cool ducky and polka dot shower curtain (aka our window curtain for our room) with some really good looking, clean, white shades. who would do such an act! hmph

how do i start this thing?

this blog was created about one or two months ago and this is my first attempt to post. right now, all i have to say is that Northeastern's nursing class of '10 is so limited on time for studying that we've resorted to completing our assignments during any "spare" moment of the day. this includes taping up* our lecture notes outside the shower doors so that we can read while we clean ourselves, reading the textbook while we carry out our other ADLs dooodies, carrying our pocket books/notes during clinical so while loitering we can pull them out to memorize at least one more concept, playing med-surg hangman and then teaching the concepts to each other while waiting for our instructors, reading books from other people outside of our class on acute and chronic renal failure, interrupting casual conversation to ask about lab values, studying for two classes at the same time, studying for one class while in another and so forth. i wonder if there are other ways to utilize our time to the fullest.. hm..

i can't wait for this week to be over!
